Here is a little bit about Mrs. Weekly...
Education:
BA Sociology from Kent State University
15+ hours of Continuing Education Training each year
Currently working on obtaining CDA Credential
Experience:
4 years working with preschoolers
As a mother of 2 wonderful children, I was a stay at home mom until both of my kids entered school full time. Since wanting to work with kids was and is my passion, it seemed like the next logical step was to begin teaching. So, four years ago I began teaching preschoolers and I am very excited to be here at Weekday Christian Preschool.
Why I do what I do:
This age group is so fun! They are like little sponges who I want to instill with the love of learning, Jesus, and caring for others that they will carry with them for the rest of their education.
My Family:
Here is a little bit about Mrs. Scott
Education:
Tallmadge HS graduate
Attended University of Akron
CPR and First Aid Training
Yearly Continuing Education Trainings/Classes in Early Childhood Development
Experience:
After 10 yrs. working at a bank, I quit to stay home with my son and babysat in my home for children ages birth to five years for 16 yrs. I began subbing for WCP in 2013 and am very excited to be here with a permanent teacher's asst. position. I was active in my son's cub scout troop (he became an Eagle Scout) and am currently a co-leader for my teenage daughter's girl scout troop. I was a room mother for both my children and currently volunteer with the CFHS marching band program.
Why I do what I do:
I love children at the preschool age. They are eager to learn and love to share stories of what they did with you. I enjoy seeing them get excited when they learn to do something new, like zip up their coat or build a tall Lego tower. My favorite time of day is when they first walk in the door with a smile on their face. I love to do crafts at this age because no two come out the same and they aren't afraid of what it will look like.
